What is Coaching?
Every world champion has a Coach.
Its not a secret that professional athletes, movie stars, business managers, CEO and world political leaders use personal coaches to provide support, pinpoint limitations and give competent advice in a competitive world.
Personal development coaching incorporating cognitive and intuitive techniques provides people with a way of thinking and a set of skills that are easy to understand and use, providing focus and an improved sense of self-worth and confidence. This powerful way of thinking about life and decisions will provide a stronger sense of control over what is happening, empowering individuals to make informed decisions, and moving forward in the right direction.
Whether you are stuck in a job that is not progressing, have personal habits that are defeating you, or are recovering from a life-changing experience, coaching offers a subtle and beneficial tool for progress.
Therapist, Nabeeh Marar has had decades of experience using various therapeutic and coaching methods to support his clients.
I use a blended approach to Coaching. Humans are complex beings and have to deal with ever changing situations at work and in their personal life. Years of working with a diverse range of people and situations have given me the edge in providing effective support to my clients and the humility to know that I am just facilitating the individual process. Yet with a good coach, teacher or mentor, we are empowered to achieve so much more.
“With the coaching process, I also use, NLP and Hypnotherapy a solution focused approach and numerous other tools, including Psychometric testing for self and team development. SDI, (strengths deployment inventory), an excellent tool to improve understanding of different people, how to communicate with them and resolve conflicts even in personal relationships by using the insights into overdone strengths. The finest of personality assessment tools is the Hogan suite of tests, (please see details in section on psychometric testing), that offer a far deeper and more useful support to the individual and organisation, highlighting the fine detail and the Hogan dark side revealing the traits and characteristics that can undermine or destroy a career or relationship. Through a greater understanding of self-awareness, clients achieve rapid and lasting results.
THE ICF, International Coach Federation, DEFINITION OF COACHING.
Professional Coaching is an ongoing professional relationship that helps people produce extraordinary results in their lives, careers, businesses or organisations. Through the process of coaching, clients deepen their learning, improve their performance, and enhance their quality of life. In each meeting, the client chooses the focus of conversation, while the coach listens and contributes observations and questions. This interaction creates clarity and moves the client into action. Coaching accelerates the client progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choice. Coaching concentrates on where clients are now and what they are willing to do to get where they want to be in the future, recognising that results are a matter of the client intentions, choices and actions, supported by the coach efforts and application of the coaching process.
